For a contractor to to be placed on our list of Preferred Service Providers, they must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and customer service. They know that if they fail to treat you right, then we will drop them off of our list and they stand to lose a large volume of business. We use that leverage on your behalf.

Concierge Service — On Demand

Call The Guy truly is a full service concierge program for individuals that don’t wish to bother with the small stuff or simply don’t have time to handle the mundane. We help to provide a better work-life balance.

As a subscriber to our Preferred Service Plan, you can think of us as your Personal Assistant. For a modest service fee, our Concierge Desk will assist you with your every need. If we can’t handle it personally, then we will find a way to meet your requests.

Our concierge service assists our clients by performing or coordinating a wide variety of tasks.


Our friendly staff can assist with pick-ups from grocery stores, pharmacies, and other stores. We can handle the needs of your pets and arrange for spa services. Our Concierge Desk can assist with limousine reservations, air taxi and air ambulance arrangements, book hotels, and arrange for all forms of transportation both here and abroad. A member of our staff also specializes in the planning and coordination of functions, wedding, and parties.
All for a negotiated fee, of course.

Preventative Maintenance Inspections and Scheduled Service Calls

Our Preventative Maintenance Service Inspections take care of all the little nuisance problems BEFORE they become problems.

We make your home and appliances more energy efficient, reducing their operational costs and extending their useful life. This equates to thousands of dollars in savings over time.

We change your filters, replace the batteries in you smoke alarms, and we even change the batteries in your TV remote controls, just so you don’t have to deal with it.

We do all this and so much more.

Each service plan offers a series of unique service options that are addressed during regularly scheduled visits. These scheduled visits are called Preventative Maintenance Service Inspections and they are scheduled bi-annually for the Basic Plan, quarterly for the Deluxe Plan, and every other month with the Premium Plan.

Our scheduled home maintenance visits will preserve your home’s value and our inspectors help spot any hidden issues with your home. That way you can plan and budget to fix potential problems before they become big, costly problems. Our service specialists keep your home functioning properly by taking care of a checklist of service issues in advance.

We will respond with appropriate urgency. Our priorities are to ensure your safety, minimize further damage, fix what we can, and help you contract out what we can’t.

Automated Project Bidding Service

Over the years, the owner of Call The Guy has developed and refined a proprietary software bidding solution that simplifies the bidding process for the construction industry. He has modified his AdvantageBids software to allow Call The Guy to help you find any type of service professional that you might need for your home, at the right price.

When you have a problem or want to take on a renovation project, we will supply you with multiple bids to choose from. All of our bid packages include information and bids from the contractors on our Preferred Contractors list. This project bidding feature can save you a lot of time, money, and aggravation in the future.

It comes in especially handy when unexpected emergencies strike and require immediate attention.

There is no charge for this bidding service if you are a subscriber to our Deluxe or Premium service plans. However, you must be a subscriber for at least three months before you can take advantage of this feature.

Discount Pricing

Our Preferred Service Providers, are pre-screened and vetted. Part of our agreement with our Preferred Service Providers is inclusion in our automated bidding program. We allow them to advertise to you, our client base, through our bidding software. In return, we ask them to treat you right and provide you with their best high-volume contractor pricing.

As a Preferred Service Provider, we grant them an opportunity to earn your business. In return, you have access to high quality reliable contractors at a discounted competitive rate. By helping you out, we get to keep you as a satisfied client… Win — Win — Win

Just for clarification… We work for you. Providing you with options, suggestions, and background information on various contractors. We help you find reliable qualified contractors and we simply the bidding process. As always, you select the contractors that you want to work with and you negotiate the final price. ’Call The Guy’ NEVER gets between you and any contractors that you select.

At your request… we provide counseling before, during, and after your projects. Upon request, we will also provide post work inspections, and help to mediate any disputes that might arise between you and any of our Preferred Service Providers.

It’s important to mention that we NEVER ever, get between you and the contractors that you select when it comes to money. We are just your advisors, your consultants.

It’s our job to provide you with choices and recommendations, but YOU decide who you want to contract with and how much you want to pay for their services. From a legal stand point, we are NOT part of your deal and we do not guarantee or warranty the work of others.

Problem Recognition and Evaluation

Problem Recognition and Evaluation is another key service that we provide. Sometimes it’s difficult for a homeowner to spot problems that evolve slowly over time. They can walk past these types of problems everyday, without even noticing them.

Our trained Inspectors and Service Specialist try and spot small problems, before they become big expenses. Many of these problems can be fixed on the spot, some problems will be placed on our watch list, and others may require outside assistance.

When problems will fall outside of our scope of work, we will guide you. We will serve as your personal consultant and help you figure out what needs to be done now and what can be pushed to a future point in time. Call The Guy will provide you with multiple bids from our trusted Preferred Service Providers. As always, you select who you want to work on your home and you pay them directly. We are not part of the deal.

Service On Request — Handyman and Minor Repair Jobs

All homes need work, neglected homes need a lot of work. While we hope you rely on us to fix everything on your punch list, the reality is that there is only so much that we can squeeze into a scheduled Service Inspection.

It takes a set amount of time to provide all of the services that we have listed on our checklists. Leaving only so much time to work on the extra items that you might have on your personal punch list. When your personal requests exceed your contracted Service Inspection time allotment, we will have to charge you extra for the extra time required to make all of your requested repairs. We may even have to schedule the work for a different day, but we won’t leave you hanging.

When the need arises for that extra support, just give us a call. If it exceeds the time allowed under your service contract, then we will give you an estimate of what it will cost for the extra ‘Service On Request’ Handyman Service Call. Payment will be due when the work is preformed.

In all cases, as a subscriber, you will get a significant discount off of the ‘Service On Request’ labor rate that we charge non-subscribers for the same work.

A Basic Service Plan subscriber receives a 40% discount off of our regular labor rate.
A Deluxe Service Plan subscriber receives a 45% discount off of our regular labor rate.
A Premium Service Plan subscriber receives a 50% discount off of our regular labor rate.

History Profile For Your Home

Over time, Call The Guy will build a history profile on your home for you. We keep records for you, so things don’t fall through the cracks. These records give you peace of mind and add value when it’s time to sell your home. Future buyers will know that your home has been well cared for over time.

We keep track your homes consumables, repairs accomplished, and project repairs needed. We keep before-and-after photo records of all repairs and this becomes invaluable when it’s time to sell or when dealing with insurance claims.

We track your appliance and home warranties and ensure that you get the most value for your dollar.

Advocacy, Mediation, and Dispute Resolution Services

As a subscriber, you are entitled to take advantage of our advocacy service to help mediate any problems that you might be having with any of our Preferred Service Providers.

To start with, we urge you to select one of our Preferred Service Providers for your projects. When you do, you can rest assured that you are dealing will competent and reputable contractors, each with a great track record. Our Preferred Service Providers have been carefully screened and they must maintain an excellent record with us while serving you, our clients.

If a problem or disagreement should ever arise with one of our Preferred Service Providers, it’s good to know that we already have a good rapport and working relationship with them. While we can’t guarantee the out come, if necessary we can leverage our corporate relationship and large buying power to try and negotiate the best possible outcome in your favor.

Consultation Services

Call The Guy provides a host of consultation services for our subscribers.

These consultation services cover a wide variety of topics and, for the most part, they are free to our subscribers. Most of our consultants are on staff, however when necessary we will invite other industry professionals to join us when their specific expertise might be needed to address your needs.

There is no charge for an initial consultation, however, the number of visits and our degree of involvement in your project will determine what fees may need to be charged for on going involvement.

Construction, Renovation, & Special Project Consultation Services

The owner of Call The Guy is an experienced Design & Build General Contractor with over 25 years in the industry. He will be glad to visit with you and steer you in the right direction as you tackle your projects. It’s comforting to know that there is someone that you can trust. Someone that you can rely upon to give you the straight talking advice.

Interior Decorator Consultation Services

We have several Interior Decorators on staff that can help you with your major purchase and design considerations. If you are considering a major home improvement or just a little remodeling, a member of our staff will come out and give you a professional assessment from a designers point of view. Be sure not to confuse our Interior Decorator Consultant Services with our Interior Design Consultant Services. These are two very different professional services that we provide.

Our decorator consultant service helps you with the selection of features and fixtures as well as the selection of colors, textures, styles, fashion, and art.

Our design consultants specialize in structural design requirements and engineering alternatives.

As a Deluxe or Premium subscriber, you have free access to both the Decorator and Design Consultant Services.

Interior Design Consultant Services

Have an idea for a renovation project? Want a free ‘second opinion’ before you start? Call our Concierge Desk and make an appointment. One of our knowledgeable design and construction staff will swing by and and share ideas and money saving tips.

Don’t confuse our Interior Design Consultant Services with our Interior Decorator Consultant Services. These are two very different professional services that we provide. Your project may require both!

Remodeling Consultant Services

If you are thinking about taking on a remodeling project, then you really need to take advantage of our Remodeling Consultant Services. One of our knowledgeable design and construction Consultants will stop by and share some fresh design ideas, validate your assumptions, and make some suggestions on the logical steps you should follow as you bring your project to life.

Our Consultants will walk you through all of the free services and resources that are available to you as a subscriber to Call The Guy.

We don’t do the work, but we can help you in various ways throughout your project.

There is no charge for this service if you are a subscriber to our Deluxe or Premium service plans. However, you must be a subscriber for at least three months before you can take advantage of this feature.

Pool & Landscape Consultant Services

There are a lot of things to consider when you are thinking about building a new pool or starting a landscaping project. Before you talk to a sales person, it might be worth your while to take advantage of our free consultant services. We can walk you through all of the various options and considerations that you will be faced with. This way, you can refine your wish list before you talk with the pool company sales people that may be focusing on their sales agenda instead of your desires and budget.

Chances are, we can save you time and money, while removing some of the headaches that might arise along the way. If you’re interested, we can use our automated bidding software to provide you with options that you may not even know are there. And, as always, you are always free to use the contractor of your choice.

Building Permit Consultation Services

If you know what you’re doing, Building Permits can be rather straight forward. Typically they are used for two primary reasons: 1. - To make sure the appropriate tax adjustments are made to your home when the improvements are completed; and 2. - To establish on-site inspections by the appropriate civil authority, based on the type of work being preformed under the permit to ensure that the work meets the local building code standards.

We can help you take advantage of the services provided by building inspectors. We urge you to think of them as your friend, not your enemy. If you think your contractor is not doing the work correctly, talk with the inspector. He has the leverage to force him to comply with local building codes. That’s good for you.

We can help you leverage the building inspector’s power to ensure that you are getting a safe and legal repair or remodel job.

Discounted Architectural Drafting & Engineering Services

Mark Meyer is the owner of Call The Guy and he is an accomplished 3D CAD designer with a background in Architectural Design, Blueprints, & Engineering. When his schedule allows, he provides discounted drafting and design services to ‘Call The Guy’ subscribers enrolled in our Deluxe or Premium service plans.

If Mark can’t help you, he’ll recommend someone that can.

Replace Batteries In Smoke Detectors and Carbon Dioxide Detectors

We replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and your carbon dioxide detectors twice a year. More often when needed. After the first 8 units per visit, there is a $2.00 charge for each additional unit.

Test all Smoke Alarms

We test all of your smoke detectors and your carbon dioxide detectors during each inspection visit. We even test the ones that are hard wired into your alarm system. You will need to be home or near a phone when your alarm service company calls to verify that they are working.

Check & cycle all Ground Fault [GFCI] Devices and Arc-Fault [AFCI] Devices

We test all of your electrical Arc Fault and Ground Fault interrupter devices during every home safety inspection.

AFCIs should not be confused with GFCIs. While both AFCIs and GFCIs are important safety devices, they have different functions.

AFCIs are intended to address fire hazards; GFCIs address shock hazards.

Check Garage Door Safety Sensors, Rollers, & Chain

Damage and injuries can be avoided through proper upkeep of your garage door and its opener. Our safety inspection will also test and ensure the proper alignment of each garage door safety sensor.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

Yearly Dryer Vent Cleaning eliminates major fire hazards and reduces drying time. The benefits include a significant energy savings and an extend life cycle for your dryer.

Since we have to move your Washer and Dryer to get to the starting point of the vent, we will also clean in, around, and under your washer and dryer as well.

A/C Filter Change

Everyone knows healthy air is vital to good health. You feel better, sleep better, and can enjoy everyday life feeling better. Routine replacement of your air filters will help keep allergens to a minimum within your home.

Clean air filters also reduce your Electrical Bill by up to 20% ! Your air handler fan units don't have to work as hard and that saves energy and extends the life of your units.

Clean air filters also reduce the dust in your home and makes it easier to keep your home both clean and comfortable.


One of the most important jobs we preform is the scheduled replacement of your A/C Filters and we change them during every scheduled inspection. That’s twice a year under the Basic Plan, four times a year under the Deluxe Plan, and every other month under the Preferred Service Plan.

Replacing air filters is a routine task. Anyone can do it. But be honest. When was the last time you did it? What did the filters cost? Wouldn’t you rather delegate the chore?

Light Bulb Replacement

Do you have burned out bulbs that you just can’t reach?

No Problem… Just Call The Guy. We have the right tools for the job.

There is a huge variety of light bulbs types on the market and some of them are down right expensive. So we give you the option of buying them yourself or buying them from us at our wholesale price. However, our stock bulb selection is limited to the most common types.

Replace all Toilet Flapper Valves

Water is expensive! Even a minor leak can be expensive. You may not even know its happening.

We replace all toilet flush and flapper valves throughout your home at least once a year. The first 5 flapper valves are included at no charge. That’s a $40 value.

While we’re at it, we’ll install a new toilet seat if you have it handy when we get there.

Stove Vent Filter - Cleaned or Replaced

Over time, the vent over your stove collects grease and grime. It’s probably the hidden source of that mysterious odor that you can’t quite put your finger on.

It can also be a major fire hazard.

Well we’ll take care of that!

You can expect the air quality in your home to improve after we clean or replace the exhaust filter over your stove.

Clean Refrigerator Condenser Coils

We clean the refrigerator condenser coils on your refrigerator units providing you with a more efficient refrigerator and extending the life of appliance. You will be able to enjoy an Energy Savings Now, and we push expensive repairs and replacement of your refrigerator way off into the future.

It takes some time to clean the coils, especially the first time. So we only clean one refrigeration unit per visit. Every time we come to your home to preform a Service Inspection we will rotate to the next refrigeration unit. Over time we will get to them all.

In addition to your main refrigerator, we also clean the coils on your wine refrigerators, beverage coolers, free standing ice makers, and beer keg coolers. Their coils will be cleaned in rotation.

If you feel like you need them done now, all at once, no problem. Additional refrigeration units can be serviced if time allows during you scheduled Service Inspection or at any time for an additional charge.

Lubricate & Adjust Garage Door Opener as needed

In addition to the previously mentioned garage door safety inspection, we extend the life of the moving parts of your garage door with adjustments and proper lubrication. We can make minor adjustments to your garage door opener to keep system running smoothly and safely and we’ll even change the units light bulbs when necessary.

Inspect Attic for Rodents, Insulation Problems, Roofing Damage

We provide a yearly Attic Analysis… specifically checking for mold, rodent access points, droppings, and other signs of potential problems.

We look for potential roof leak problems, electrical wiring problems and much more.

While we are in your attic, we also check out and service any A/C air handler units and hot water heaters that might normally slip your mind. And we’ll provide you with an insulation analysis and damage report if necessary. We’ll take plenty of pictures for you so you won’t have to climb up to check it out.

Inspect Insulation around Doors & Windows

We inspect your weather stripping and the condition of your caulk, both inside and out.

Little fixes now can save you thousands later. Stop water penetration and wood rot by staying ahead of the game. Save energy heating and cooling your home all year round.

We’ll spot the problems and make recommendations. As for the small stuff… Just Call The Guy. We’ll handle it for you.

Inspect Gutters and Drainage

Water damage can sneak up on you. We’ll inspect you gutters and spot and potential drainage problems before the become major repairs. Need your gutters cleaned?… Just Call The Guy.

Roof Inspections

The granddaddy of major problems. Roof problems can happen over night (hail damage) or your roof and its flashings can slowly deteriorate over time, without you even realizing it’s happening. Either way, its good to get an independent, non-biased, report that you can trust. We’re on your side!

When the weather allows, we will use a drone to inspect and make a video recording of your entire roof. We will zoom in and take pictures of any problems that might be developing. We can then use these pictures as a base line for future inspections. Insurance companies hate a good set of pictures. Let us document yours today. Just Call The Guy.

Replace Remote Control Batteries

Sure… Anyone can change the batteries in their remotes. But, don’t you hate it when you have to. We will eliminate that nuisance problem by replacing them BEFORE they die.

When you ‘Call The Guy’ we will simplify your life in a lot of ways you won’t even have to think about. How’s that for Customer Convenience?

Assist Customer with TV/Cable Box/DVD settings and adjustments

Life is supposed to be simple. Need a little extra help tweaking your electronics from time to time? We’ll give it a shot. And we won’t even tell your kids we helped.

Oil & Adjust Squeaky Doors, Drawers, and Hinges

Over time, everything that moves could use a little help. We try and stay ahead of the game by keeping potential problem areas properly adjusted and lubricated. From doors too windows, drawers too locks, even skateboards too walkers; we’ve got what it takes to keep it running smoothly.

Remember… We’re here to help. Minor adjustments to major repairs. If we can’t fix it we know someone that can. Just Call The Guy.

Check & Reset Water Heater Settings upon request

Is your hot water a little too hot? Not hot enough? Not a problem. Just let us know and we’ll make the adjustments for you.

Flush Hot Water Heater

It’s a safe bet that the tank of your water heater has some good old fashion sludge built up in it right now. We’ll follow your manufacture’s recommendations and flush the grime right out of your hot water heater.

Why? Several reasons. It helps to restore a healthy water supply to your home. It also keeps rust and sediment from building up and damaging your entire water supply system. Not to mention… It saves energy when your hot water heater runs more efficiently and it extends the life of your hot water heater.

Do you have an instant hot water system? Did you know that the filter screen needs to be cleaned on a regular basis? We’ll take care of that for you as well. Helps your system… Improves the flow… Increases efficiency.

Clean faucet screens and shower heads

Spray patterns not like they used to be? No problem. We’ll take care of that. We’ll clean the screens on all your faucets and soak the calcium build-up away from your shower heads for you.

Change Refrigerator Water Filters

Here’s another little nuisance chore that we’ll handle for you. We will even buy and stock the filters for you, once we see what you need. Once again, we will provide them at our cost and install them as part of our regular service inspection.

Exterior Water Spigot Insulation Covers (Late fall & Winter)

It’s always a good idea to drain your garden hoses and cover your outdoor water spigot prior to a hard freeze. We will take care of that little chore as well, and we will even supply the insulation covers at no additional charge.

Fireplace Cleaning (Ash Removal)

If you have a wood burning fireplace (inside or out) we will clean out the old ash. Provided the ash and embers are not hot when we are there. This can be a very messy chore. Especially if you do it yourself. However, we have the right tools for the job and will keep your home spotless in the process. So, let us handle this messy task for you.

We do not preform chimney sweep services. That’s considered a major repair. However, we will find someone to handle that speciality task for you, if desired.

Adjust Sprinkler System Timers (upon request)

It’s important to keep your sprinkler system properly adjusted to meet the seasonal demands of your lawn and shrubs.

We all know that water is a precious resource and should not be squandered. Improper sprinkler system settings can be very costly. Literally, pouring money down the drain. When your yard is too wet, or too dry, it can kill your grass and plants. This leads to unsightly conditions and can costs in the thousands of dollars in grass and plant replacement.

Few of us have the time or inclination to tweak and adjust the sprinkler system timer, zone by zone, to meet the ever changing needs of our yards. We can keep an eye on that for you.

During the exterior portion of your Scheduled Preventative Maintenance Service Inspection, our Service Specialist will assess the efficiency of your sprinkler system and make recommendations when appropriate. Then, upon your approval and at your request, the Service Specialist will adjust or replace sprinkler heads as heeded and adjust the sprinkler system timing schedule at your request.
