We keep a list of companies and individuals that will treat you right and, in most cases, provide you with discounted pricing. Our knowledgeable staff has access to our private list of pre-vetted professionals covering most service categories and commercial trades.
For a contractor to be placed on our list of Preferred Service Providers, they must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and customer service. They know that if they fail to treat you right, then we will drop them off of our list and they stand to lose a large volume of business. We use that leverage on your behalf.

Over the years, the owner of Call The Guy has developed and refined a proprietary software bidding solution that simplifies the bidding process for the construction industry. He has modified his AdvantageBids software to allow Call The Guy to help you find any type of service professional that you might need for your home, at the right price.
When you have a problem or want to take on a renovation project, we will supply you with multiple bids to choose from. All of our bid packages include information and bids from the contractors on our Preferred Contractors list. This project bidding feature can save you a lot of time, money, and aggravation in the future.
It comes in especially handy when unexpected emergencies strike and require immediate attention.
There is no charge for this bidding service if you are a subscriber to our Deluxe or Premium service plans. However, you must be a subscriber for at least three months before you can take advantage of this feature.

Service On Request — Handyman and Minor Repair Jobs
All homes need work, neglected homes need a lot of work. While we hope you rely on us to fix everything on your punch list, the reality is that there is only so much that we can squeeze into a scheduled Service Inspection.
It takes a set amount of time to provide all of the services that we have listed on our checklists. Leaving only so much time to work on the extra items that you might have on your personal punch list. When your personal requests exceed your contracted Service Inspection time allotment, we will have to charge you extra for the extra time required to make all of your requested repairs. We may even have to schedule the work for a different day, but we won’t leave you hanging.
When the need arises for that extra support, just give us a call. If it exceeds the time allowed under your service contract, then we will give you an estimate of what it will cost for the extra ‘Service On Demand’ Service Call. Payment will be due when the work is preformed.
In all cases, as a subscriber, you will get a significant discount off of the ‘Service On Demand’ labor rate that we charge non-subscribers for the same work.
A Basic Service Plan receives a 20% discount.
A Deluxe Service Plan receives a 25% discount.
A Premium Service Plan receives a 30% discount.

Typically they are used for two primary reasons: 1. - To make sure the appropriate tax adjustments are made to your home when the improvements are completed; and 2. - To establish on-site inspections by the appropriate civil authority, based on the type of work being preformed under the permit to ensure that the work meets the local building code standards.
We can help you take advantage of the services provided by building inspectors. We urge you to think of them as your friend, not your enemy. If you think your contractor is not doing the work correctly, talk with the inspector. He has the leverage to force him to comply with local building codes. That’s good for you.

Mark Meyer is the owner of Call The Guy and he is an accomplished 3D CAD designer with a background in Architectural Design, Blueprints, & Engineering. When his schedule allows, he provides discounted drafting and design services to ‘Call The Guy’ subscribers enrolled in our Deluxe or Premium service plans.

Replace Batteries In Smoke Detectors and Carbon Dioxide Detectors
We replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and your carbon dioxide detectors twice a year. More often when needed.
Note: We pay for the batteries for the first 8 units, there is a $3.00 charge for each additional unit after that.

We test all of your smoke detectors and your carbon dioxide detectors during each inspection visit. We even test the ones that are hard wired into your alarm system. You will need to be home or near a phone when your alarm service company calls to verify that they are working.

Check & cycle all Ground Fault [GFCI] Devices and Arc-Fault [AFCI] Devices
We test all of your electrical Arc Fault and Ground Fault interrupter devices during every home safety inspection.
